BERING Robusto (4.5x50) Dominican Republic

I'm happy to lead with this cigar, because it's brand new, and it's yummy.  I do review lots of bad smokes, but I just tell you about the winners, and this time we have six of them.

Bering's new Dominican Hallmark line is made to compete with cigars costing two or three times as much.  It's beautifully made; with a gorgeous wrapper.

The cigar tastes like, well, a Dominican Bering.  It has about the same strength as its fine Honduran counterpart, but with a Dominican brightness.  The strength is medium; the taste is nutty, creamy, and just a tad spicy, especially toward the end.  This is one to smoke down to nothing.  The aftertaste is smooth and sweet.

It's a fine smoke now, with all the tobacco being cured and aged carefully, but with six months to a year in your humidor, this baby would be hard to beat by anybody.  It has potential to go over four stars.
