DON MELO Churchill, double corona, maduro (6.9x49). Honduras

Don Melo Bueso's photo stares humorously from the band, as if to say, "My life is in this cigar.  Tell me you like it".  No problem, senior.  This is a delicious smoke.  Medium strength, rich and chocolately.  Proof you can make a damn good cigar for less than $5.00.  No need to pay rip-off prices to the get-rich-quick new guys.

Don Melo will make a maduro lover out of you.  The whole line is wrapped in dark leaf and everything is cured to perfection.  The wrapper delivers an almost-sweet bass note with the barest touch of spice.

The sweetness and spice build slowly.  Smoke this all the way down.  Your fingers may get hot but not the cigar.  It's a wonderful dessert.

Bourbon works as the best alcoholic accompaniment with the whisky I had gained a delightful carmel-apple nose without stepping on the cigar.

I've also tried the don's Corona Gorda.  It was good, but not nearly as complex.  I was surprised at how much more I liked this one.

$4.00 or so, a bargain.
