TAVERN ON RUSH is the latest entry in Chicago's famous Gold Coast steak house
scene.  Given its fabulous location, it would have been folly to have developed a
restaurant anything less stunning then TAVERN.  Although we intially visited when they'd been only open a few weeks, the crowd at the bar had already staked out a claim on this happening spot.  The menu fits the location -- fabulous steaks that successfully compete with Tavern's famous neighbors.  Other selections like Whole Dover Sole fileted tableside for $28.95, Wood oven Pizza that works as an appetizer or entrée, and The Shrimp Cipriani Pasta with Cognac Cream Sauce and Jumbo Shrimp were big hits on our table.

The menu is basic Chicago, certain to please everyone who is just plain hungry and out for a great evening.  The wine list is terrific with well over one hundred selections.  American wines comprise two-thirds of the list so you aren't paying a big portion of the cost for transportation.  Our congratulations to the management for designating the wines' vintages.
